“Swamp Juice” is an experimental fuel. Use at your own risk. I make no official claims regarding the safety or efficacy of “Swamp Juice” for your particular engine. It is very much still in the testing/R&D phase of product development. However, the goal is to eventually provide a product everyone will be satisfied with. Feedback from testing by those of you who have access to Swamp Juice is greatly appreciated. At this time my fuel formula is aimed at large two-stroke glow engines. The reason for this being my first focus is the fact that large two-stroke engines tend to use fuel at a high rate of consumption. Since my fuel is aimed to improved ECONOMY surrounding the use of glow engines, I believe this to be the best initial focus. In the future I will likely expand the range of formulas available.

If you would like to compare this fuel head to head with traditional glow fuel, FAI is what this fuel is designed to compete against, dollar for dollar. Big power development comes later, so stay tuned for that if that is what interests you. As of this moment, the goal for Swamp Juice is to provide ECONOMY for the average sport-flier. It is my finding that “Swamp Juice” has a much longer run time per tank as compared to traditional glow fuel. From initial runs, this figure appears to be as high as 40% but your individual results may vary. I make no official claims here. Expect power output levels not to be identical to traditional glow fuel, as my formula is vastly different. KEEP IN MIND, that this fuel on current engine platforms is NOT currently designed to out-power or out-thrust Nitro-content fuels. I make no claims that it will. It is my aim that it will cost you less, and last you longer (and hopefully help preserve your engines longevity.) Allowing you more fun per dollar for the beloved glow engines that you already own and cherish. Again, I make no official claims. I’m Just sharing all this so that you know what my current intentions are.

TUNING AND PROPELLER SELECTION:

Currently the fuel requires the use of the OS G5 plug. Other plugs may be tested in future iterations. This fuel WILL NOT run the same as any fuel that you have run in the past. Running Swamp Juice WILL require changes. I will do my best to provide recommendations based on educated guesses and observations through testing that I have made while developing this fuel. I am not currently making samples or sales available to the general public. As soon as I am comfortable with the results, that will be the next step.

This fuel WILL act differently than your traditional glow fuel while running. These modifications describe what I have experienced during use. There may be other factors experienced by your usage that were not experienced during my testing. For example: leaning out the mixture past the level of clean-running seems to cause a flame-out condition that results in a flat stall of the engine. It is likely that if you run at the limit of “lean” on the ground, when you take off and fly around, the amount the engine leans out in the air may cause it to cease running abruptly. For this reason, I recommend running a healthy “rich” at all times until you are used to the way the fuel performs in your airplane. Running this fuel will provide results I feel to outweigh the cons. However, the tuning range is considerably less wide when approaching the “lean” side of things. Conversely, I find on the “rich” side, that it runs extremely predictably with excellent idle characteristics. Due to this I have ceased to use “air bleed screw” adjustments whatsoever on my carburetors and instead simply close the air bleed screw altogether. Please feel free to seek out your own preferences when tuning.

At this time I am recommending that anyone running “Swamp Juice” use the SMALLEST DIAMETER propeller that is listed in the range of acceptable propellers for your given engine. An example of this would be, if the manufacturer of your engine says it can use 18″ through 22″ propellers, you should choose the 18″ propeller. In this example, if an 18″ propeller does not give you enough performance on your airplane, it is my recommendation to use a larger engine if you wish to use a larger diameter propeller. Feel free to choose whichever pitch on the propeller that you feel works best for your application with “Swamp Juice.”

The initial starting of your engine on this fuel will be fairly identical to the glow fuel you are already used to using. Please follow manufacturer’s recommendations for fuel mixture settings for initial starting and run-up. Please do not immediately lean out the mixture. Treat the engine as if it is not broken in yet, regardless of its age or condition. This means you should run it either on the ground or in the air in fairly “rich” fashion until you have spent at least a few tanks in this manner. This fuel contains compounds that MAY affect already-formed deposits in your engine. I make no official claims here. This fuel DOES contain castor oil. It is my goal to keep the gumming factor down as much as possible, but it is likely that this factor will always be there, even if reduced to a minimum.
